Hi everyone,
Here is a pitch that we were asked to do by the folks over at Marvel to showcase some alternative robots for IRON MAN 2.
Unfortunately the shots didn´t make it into the final cut of the film but we still want to show them to the community.
The idea was to display different countries failed attempts to create their own Iron Man/STARK technology.
We shot it on RED in Stockholm and produced the rest at Kaktus Film HQ.
3D software used was Maya and 3ds Max. Mental Ray for rendering.

Meh, our robot at least our robot CAN move, without fucking it all up cough North-Korea and others cough Glorious Canada, eh.
On a second note, this looks very much like the macron final boss robot from the game Quake 2, after you kill his bigger robot suit he hops out, only he had a railgun head instead of minigun and a BFG that worked XD
I'm looking for the clip in iron man 2 where the guy in the suit get's twisted in the failed attempt.
That is awesome. I suppose you guys are pros then? Very nice work. Did Kaktus do the failed robot scenes that actually were seen in Iron Man 2?
As I Canadian I have to say that's rather innacurate. Our robot would be completely unarmed, and likely would mount giant speakers to help it "talk it over" with the enemy.
This would of course be to lull them into a false sense of security, as it busts out it's multiple moose launcher (with wide-dispersal hockey puck sub munitions) and starts blaring "Hockey Night in Canada"
