Dinsey highballs Sony
Sony says fuck that!
Disney say OK 25%
Sony happily agrees
Disney taps the tips of its fingers, smirks and mutter "Excellent!"

Hmm, 1 stand alone movie and 1 MCU team up….Tom Holland has 2 movies left in his deal. Coincidence? I think not! 🤔

14:16 The young Avengers movie idea… BRILLIANT!
Marvel would benefit so much from these young stars and characters for a long future.

John has really been on this anti-Disney narrative since the news of Fox having a lot of their films taken off the slate by Disney after the buyout. He even made the comment that he had wished Comcast had beaten Disney for the Fox buyout, which is a pretty insane point if you know anything about Comcast as a company. I am saddened to see he refuses to take his blinders off to his distaste for Disney and see that they were not the bad guys here. Even his refusal to actually address how silly a Madame Web SOLO outing would be shows he is so desperate to go with the narrative that Sony made the right move. Nothing wrong with Madame Web in the movies, but a solo outing around that character in a genre of action-oriented films makes little sense.

I wish Campea would stop saying Spiderman 2 and Spider verse were the best movies. They aren't. Spiderman 2 was good at it's time. And Spiderverse is animated.

Is John ever going to admit that he was completely wrong about Disney caving and it was clear that it was the other way around?

.. Yo are these people smart enough or…? If Sony wants to get a real piece of this superhero cake, this is how to do it!
Let's say that Sony would tell Disney: you want my Spider-Man in your MCU? Fine! What about you use the character in your movies and even keep 70%-80% of the revenues as it is your movie… IN RETURN, I (Sony) can do the same like borrowing some of your characters under the same deal, i.e. Sony keeping 70% of movies revenues he would make using Marvel's characters… and… what about we start by borrowing Nick Fury, Wolverine, Ant-Man… I'm building a superhero universe on my own so… some of your characters could help… I would even make sure that stories in my franchises don't contradict yours, so basically the cinema would end up having a same super-hero universe but fed by 2 companies: Sony and Marvel… kind of a MSCU where each company own they franchises (e.g. Venom at Sony, Thor at Marvel, etc…) and sharing each other's characters for support and agreeing on a coherent universe among all the production made under the franchises of both companies…

we are altering the deal, pray we don't alter it any further…

The PRODIGAL SON HAS RETURNED

October 3, 2019

John stop. Just stop. Your misreporting of this issue is becoming embarrassing now

October 3, 2019

Hmmm 25% on the financing but also 25% of the profits and retains 100% on Merchandising….sounds somewhat like a bigger win for Disney in the short term at least.

October 3, 2019

Face it John, this deal blowing up and then coming back together was just a way to create more buzz rather than to risk it dying down after Endgame.

October 3, 2019

I'm really not that hyped. In fact, all the Sony Spider-Man movies (save for Raimi Spidey 3) are better than the MCU movies.
Even in the case of "Amazing Spider-man 2", Sony was able to give us good, faithful-to-comics moments that the MCU somehow failed to do YET.

I was actually interested in watching a Sony Spider-Man movie with Tom Holland – probably the best Spidey up til now. But once again he got himself dragged into the MCU shit-pile of continuity that has been ruining MCU Spidey movies.

October 3, 2019

You're pissed Spider-Man is back at Marvel.

October 3, 2019

From What i hear Disney will be providing 25% financing as well.

October 3, 2019

Actually… Disney did not cave. Sony gave in and lost the fight. All that drama for fucking nothing. At least stick to your guns. Smdh.
