Her lower back is collapsing toward the floor. Proper form is keeping the lower back straight by engaging the stomach and glute muscles.

Can I replace crunches with these?  I don't have a mat so when I do crunches my back cracks.  I don't feel like it's a healthy thing to continue doing crunches without a mat, but I am sure I can do these without a mat.
